Many kids, growing up in America including me, idolized athletes with all their stardom and fame. Many wanted to be "just like Mike (Micheal Jordan)." These athletes excelled in the sports world and used their God-given talent until the end of their careers. Many of those we admire originate from the NBA.
We, at FREEAG8, have always been in awe and have a certain fondness for Entrepreneurs and Founders. They are the Risk Takers, Capitalists, Thinkers, Disruptors, Innovators, Visionaries & Misfits of our new Economy. They build strong economies and the Future workplace. They often don't get the respect they deserve or the credit for their success. They are the new athletes of the 21st century.
In the business world, several well known examples include Jack Ma, Bill Gates, Marc Benioff, Richard Branson, Steve Jobs, and Jeff Bezos. These are Entrepreneurs and Founders using their God-given talents to change the world. Without these Entrepreneurs and Founders, our lives and business would be a lot different than it is today. The technologies and businesses they have built have made our world a better place.
The bottom line is that not everybody wants to be just like Mike. The business world is where they want to use their God-given talents. Michael Carter in an Entrepreneur magazine article stated it succinctly when he says, "Entrepreneurs, I believe, are the athletes of the 21st century and will create powerful ecosystems of opportunities for all stakeholders who support and help create them in their communities or markets."
What can you do to build a better economy and change the world in 2019? Support Entrepreneurs and small businesses. You can show your support as consumers, as fellow entrepreneurs, and as investors. Give them the respect and credit they deserve!
